Keeping Geos running well past their expiration date is a full-time job. Those things don't even have a place on their odometer for 100,000. But where else you gonna get 50+mpg on a non-hybrid for less than $25,000? And you can carry the engine block in by hand to get shop work done.

And is it true that the back wheels are held on with a washer and a cotter pin?

2002 Chevrolet Silverado, standard cab, long bed, 2WD

Almost 243,000 miles as of 23APR15.

Got new wheel bearings on the front last week, plus an alignment. New tires the week before after a blowout on I-74.

The 5.3 L V8 could last indefinitely. I'm hoping the rest of the truck can make it at least to 350K. I'd be happy with 500K.

Rust is doing her in. It's honestly not safe to drive at this point. Can see the rust poking through the frame where the leaf shackles are mounted.

But just replaced the rear end, an im on a mission to see the clock turn 300k.

Original clutch btw. Despite lots of overloaded tow jobs, as well as heavy bed hauls, and aggressive driving overall.

    Pretty awesome truck imo

1968 Fiat Spider - unknown miles, but the odometer read '68k when I disassembled it
    1969 Fiat Spider - 115k
    1980 Fiat X1/9 - 56k
    1988 BMW 325is - 230k
    1992 BMW 525iT - 224k
    1998 BMW 328is - 94k
    1999 Subaru - 101k
    2007 F150 - 104k
    2011 BMW 535is - 66k

My fleet is pretty young at the moment. I sold a 320k '85 BMW last year which brought the average down significantly. I'll be selling the '92 BMW 525 this year which will drop the average even more. The Subaru will be gifted to one of my sons this year too.

you're in GW.... Can I come by and oogle your vehicles? And your garage? heh
