The violence prompted a statement from Mayor Joe Hogsett:

"Over the last year, we’ve seen far too many tragedies occur when the proliferation of guns has collided with interpersonal conflict."

More like when the proliferation of criminals has collided with do-nothing prosecutors and judges.

Uc Davis health found there were 39,740 deaths from firearms in the US in 2018. In 2018, the small arms survey reported US civilians possessed 393 million firearms. If the firearm is responsible for the 39,740 annual deaths, then firearms are 99.98989% effective in preventing death. If only the covid vaccines were as effective...

I emailed my rep about my support for the cc bill. His response was basically about him being concerned that gun violence is too high to allow more people to carry.
    And there you have it.
A lack of involvement on their end (ie. catch ad release/wash rinse repeat) and it comes to bear on us. Catch them. Hold them. Punish the guilty to the absolute max allowed period. No more ****ing back room :bs: deals and this :poop: will slow significantly.

I replied to him and very respectfully informed him his view was flawed and why. I used it as a teachable moment for him.

I'm sure it fell on deaf ears. But come election time I'll be sure to remember his name.

Bully for you to get involved. But in this do you really think he actually touched that communication.

To be 100% honest. Logically speaking I have a hard time being able to say 100% he read it. This is more an act of faith. That unreasonable faith. If I didnt think there was even the slightest chance he wouldnt read it, I wouldn't have sent it to him. So there's a small part of me that thinks he did.

I almost feel, we should form a pro gun group. Then start scheduling meetings with these idiots and take them to task.

A they seem to be well isolated from the common man/citizen/gun owner your idea would be possibly the only way. But as with his response they have sooooooo many ways to twist the message to fit their agenda. And a willing MSM to assist.
This does not mean we stop.

proliferation of guns has collided with interpersonal conflict."
I saw this, and wanted to puke. This is just typical of all of the communists. Redirect and evade, create a boogie man to direct the citizens ire from the source of the problem to something else.

As with all of these events it has nothing to do with the tool, it has everything to do with behavior. Human beings that choose to act outside of the norms of a civilized society are a threat to that society. Functional societies recognize this and punish those in a way that either corrects the behavior, or they remove them from society via capital punishment. Instead we have now reached a point in this nation where we have a revolving door in our judicial system underpinned primarily by the communist party. The crime of course that this this policy creates is a useful tool to pitch more government and fewer rights. Those unwilling to be responsible for themselves and all too often more than willing to be the victim, of course gravitate to these political pitches.

No Mr Mayor, Indianapolis this state or nation does not have a problem with an intersection of firearms and "interpersonal conflict", it has a problem with permitting predatory feral humans to continue to operate freely within our ostensibly civilized society.

Here's a thought Mayor, remove the feral humans from society via the judicial system. Tell the prosecutor and advise the courts, that returning these individuals to society without effective correction of the behaviors is no longer acceptable. Further hold those elements of government responsible and accountable.

Since the answer is almost never more government, and no government in the history of mankind has been able to keep the population safe with police, it would do well for the mayor to encourage the communities most affected by these predatory humans to be armed and trained and to defend themselves. As opposed to lying to them, and telling them that government is going to protect them.

There are some really well informed members on this site.

The issue is personal time. That can factor in and is one of the reasons we get beat back by groups full of non-working socialists with nothing but time and no honor.
We as a group are supporting the system. Part of the system. Working our hours and paying the bills incurred form living the dream as intended.

Not making excuses here. Just stating the obvious.

Time is one of the reasons why I can't champion this. Do we have any time rich folks that want to get this ball rolling?

Can't say I'm surprised. It's too "easy" to blame the gun. If he blamed the person, he'd be "racist".
Yea. heaven forbid should he blame the person that pulled the trigger. Seems to me that he is just as ignorant as the rest of the Demorats, doesn't realize that guns don't kill people, people kill people. Get rid of the criminals and you won't have an issue, oh I'm bad, they want the criminals so they can vote for them...
