This type of thinking is what got alot of us service members killed. We had guys terrorized to pull the trigger cause of the thought of the chain of command turning and sending them to prison. Its war.

There is a differential between intentionally targeting civilians and causalities incurred to civilians while in the process of eliminating the enemy combatants and their armament who hide amongst them. Those enemy combatants are solely responsible for putting them in harm's way.

The IDF even went to great efforts to warn the civilians to get out of northern Gaza and it was Hamas that were preventing them from doing so.
