Sounds like JDmack needs to get in contact with Guy.
...He asked me where I went to school and if I had a job. I informed him that I go to Indiana State University and that I have worked at a law firm since 2007. He then went and talked to the SWAT officer who was still in the car...
OK fellas...you are all so worldly I will just say....yes, the law says this....today the authority did that. Is it right, hell no it isn't...did it happen, well yes. Did you expect anything different. I did not. I knew someone was going to be made example of when the stupid idea of buying those guns came up and by his posts it was going to be him. It was a bad freaking idea period. Spout all the law you wish, give all the examples of those who pushed back and actually won.
How many of you have been in his position. Actually cuffed and waiting to be judged at the curb. It is and always will be their way. He will have his day in court if charges were pressed and that is a crap shoot as well.
I just said it was a bad idea and was proven correct. That is all and no more.
Put down the flame throwers, I am on "Our" side. I just do not choose to taunt the authority's for something as stupid as this.
The adults in the room are always entertained when kids go looking for trouble, get trouble, and then whine about getting trouble.
A kid drives all the way from Terre Haute to blatantly taunt the police at an advertised gun buy-back and you, somehow, blame the cops? Grow up, people. This kind of nonsense is exactly the kind of things the left uses to constantly beat the drum that says that none of us should have guns.
Going there with a sign to solicit transactions to buy guns, at their event, is stupid. Period. Responsible gun owners are glad he got to sit handcuffed for an hour. Perhaps he will show a bit more maturity before he does something as stupid the next time.
I think it was Churchill that said something like
A man that won't stand up for himself on the small stuff, won't stand up on the bigger stuff.
Or something like that.
If someone is doing something legal, they shouldn't be arrested.
I'm predicting 50 pages by Monday
So did you or didn't you get the .38 and .357?
I agree, but in this case......no arrest was made.
This, despite whatever some will say.....along with accusations of kidnapping and robbery.
The seller hit the road as soon as the police showed up. I'm convinced that this would have been A LOT worse if I had managed to get those revolvers before the police detained me.
Just read this whole thing. Whew...... Remember when window washers and pamphlet sellers were at street corners. This law was passed to stop undesired sales and solicitations. Kind of a stretch. But then again when the seat belt law was passed we were told "nobody gets stopped for not wearing their seatbelt". Seatbeat enforcement zones mean anything to anybody? Revenue enhancement? I changed my mind about going after all the talk about ID requirements. Churchmouse doesn't need my help at all. But he and Jake are able to see the big picture.
