Why would they make barriers to keep kids from watching it? It’s another market. That it is another large market to exploit isn’t evidence that they’re intentionally targeting it. But they are exploiting it. And there is a reason to target it, just like the cigarette industry targeted children.

There's no "eventually" to it. Exposure and then the subsequent curiosity and finally, the desire to consume it will happen. It could be they accidently google something and a x-rated result returns because what terms they googled are also associated with adult content in other contexts. As we mature and naturally start noticing the other sex, their buddies will clue them in on the "good" places to go. As I said up thread, if the adult sites wanted to make it tougher for kids to access their content, they'd figure out a real meaningful way to do it. They don't want to. They know what they are doing.

Please explain how low barriers is targeting. Targeting is actively enticing a group. Low barriers are not an active effort.

The low barriers are there because they are using the Youtube model of making money, advertising.

The cigarette industry did actively target kids. Hollywood was part of that. How many people DIDN'T smoke when we were little in movies?

Oh. It’s just a word you’re refuting so hard? Okay. That’s fine. Technically you’re right as far as I know. How about we just call it passively pursuing a strategy that makes it easy for kids to indulge in their industry.

Did you know you can virtually **** in several video games? I haven’t searched for evidence that the porn industry is actively encouraging game makers to do it. But it was evident that cigarettes were prominent in Hollywood movies long before it became evident that the industry paid them to do it. It was only after investigation that we found out that cigarette companies we’re targeting children. People had plenty of evidence that made it a reasonably conclusion. It takes an accusation based on circumstances reasonably justified.

Does anyone think there is something to investigate? Or are we secure in our lack of evidence that the porn industry is targeting children, that we don’t need to look further? Or do we just not think that if it is a problem, it needs to be solved?
