There is a monumental difference between using justified force to protect/defend one's freedom to exercise one's own rights, and using unjustified force to infringe upon others' freedom to exercise their rights. The problem with letting them take the precinct is, now it has to be taken back. It would have been violent either way, but it would have been less violent just to shut it down and never let it get to this state. There's no way that allowing this group to assume a different government is tenable. But on the other hand, maybe letting them learn from experience that the world they proposed is not possible, or even desirable.

I stand by "LARPing" because these kids are doing just that. They're pretending like they're winning a rebellion against the US. They're playing the role of a freedom fighter or something equally stupid, running around with guns and thinking they're about to fight the state and win a "new america".

It's LARPing, in that way. Yes, some are taking it serious, but the kids hanging around... the white kids that graduated with their political science degrees and live in a posh house with their parents... they're LARPing.
