With the Clockwork Orange and soccer hooligan comments I was speaking to the impression I have that many of the participants just want to mix it up more than that they are ideologically inspired. I will say, when I see them in action, British street thugs seem to have way more experience at their craft

I've never spoken with Antifa folks, either European or Americans, do I don't know about their ideology.

Some people in Europe are almost professional rioters.They travel all over Europe (a lot are from Russia) in large groups to go to different events (social protests, soccer games, whatever) just to fight with cops, protesters and supporter of soccer teams.

They rent a bus and cross several EU borders to go wherever there's a large gathering of people.

A lot of them are parts of "black block" groups and sometimes have been in more riots than the local anti-riot cops.

I guess some people just like to riot for the sake of rioting. Just show up at any cause or event and riot. It's just like the things you see at many protests. A lot of them come out of the woodwork and protest at any specific event for their own loopy cause that doesn't even have anything to do with the initial protest. Supposedly members the so called "far right" "Proud Boys" were taped beating up anti-fascist protesters after their leader gave a talk in New York City on Friday. Some of the Proud Boy members that were involved said that the fight broke out when one of the Antifa protesters tried to swat a MAGA hat off of one of their heads.

Of course the POS leftist Governor of NY Cuomo starts talking tough calling for the prosecution of the Proud Boys without nary a mention of the violence inciting Antifa thugs.

The cities like New York that are controlled by left socialist and truly fascists thugs will be strongholds for the looney and violent left like antifa. They will use these cities and states to launch attacks into free states like Indiana that isnt ran by commies but instead freedom loving Patriots who stand up for the police and rule of law and who do not use the left owned police as thugs with badges to hide behind like Cuomo does.

I don't quite know what to think of the "Proud Boys". Seems right on the edge of something bad and I doubt they will be able to exercise sufficient control over the group identity to avoid it taking a bad turn at some point.

But I've seen video after video of Proud Boys attending various events and they go to the areas where Antifa is, and it's pretty obvious that they kinda want to fight. If you intentionally go somewhere where you know the other side will react to you, and you're going there anyway, with "armor", mace, etcetera, you're kinda there to fight. So I think "goad" fits well enough to be appropriate for what I'm saying.

And I don't blame these right wing groups. There have been many instances where Antifa attacked innocent people, and it makes my blood boil. These ****ers need to be taught a lesson. But, joining the proud boys so you can go kicks some Antifa ass may be gratifying, but it's not helping in the bigger picture.

The Portland traffic video has done Antifa a lot of damage. Normal people see that and they see ignorant unhinged thugs. I've said before that videos like that should be used as campaign adds. Videos like that should be airing every 5 minutes across the nation. Just show the violence, and make Democrats the owners of it, which they are.

But, you can't make those kinds of ads from videos of burly proud boys kicking the snot out of the thugs. Those kinds of videos are interesting to the people who are already gonna vote Republican.

Counter groups like the Proud Boys will always get the blame in any confrontation. It’s already happening with the media in Portland and this latest scuffle in NY.

They portray them as the right wing fascist aggressor beating up on the “anti-protesters”

The media purposely uses that term instead of “Antifa” to make it look like the Proud Boys are indiscriminately bashing innocent protesters. They absolutely will not provide the proper context.

I agree with the sentiment that those criminal POS Antifa thugs need a good throttling anytime but the Proud Boys can’t win an optics battle against Antifa and the complicit media.
