They made them here during WW II. About one mile down river. When I was a kid, you could still see the rails that they were moved around the yard. Nice display, if you ever get down here.

I lived in Mt V for a while--heck, met Mrs GGF while there--never noticed it.

Now, back to your regularly scheduled thread... :D

Interesting! I just inquired as to their rules concerning carrying via email on their web site and received the following reply:

    Hi XXXXX,

It is my understanding that you are permitted to carry a handgun with proper licensing. For details, I would suggest pulling the actual law up on the internet. Enjoy your visit!

Seems to me that THEY have taken their own advice by 'pulling the actual law up on the internet'.

What other zoos are in Indiana that are not privately owned. My girlfriend and I enjoy the zoo, but Indianapolis Zoo is the ssdd everytime. I want something new, not looking for an OC event, just curious.

    I wouldn't.
    Any particular reason?

its also because the zoo is a non-profit organization
Being non-profit does not preclude an organization from receiving grants to help with operations, improvements, and other business needs... Just as being non-profit doesn't preclude the business from paying it's executives (quite well in most cases).

Because it would be taking money from the state to prop up something that obviously cannot support itself.

Do not start a business that is not capable of making money
