They made them here during WW II. About one mile down river. When I was a kid, you could still see the rails that they were moved around the yard. Nice display, if you ever get down here.
what about Fort Wayne Zoo? i have no idea if it is privately owned...anyone know if it is or not?
There is absolutely no reason to carry your bacon where everyone can see it. Nobody wants to see your bacon.QUOTE]
Try this in a petting zoo.

Old Goat
It is publicly owned.

IMHO, the Indy zoo is lackluster for the price you pay
Meh, it could be worse.IMHO, the Indy zoo is lackluster for the price you pay
I suppose... Any reason the Indy Zoo doesn't look into state/federal money?since we dont have government funding or any funding from the city we gotta keep it going somehow ya know? and people are willing to pay...so it works

My business is privately owned and operated but if I qualified for state and/or federal grants/funds I would certainly apply for it.not really sure, i think it just has to do with the whole being privately owned and operated...but honestly i have no idea
I wouldn't.My business is privately owned and operated but if I qualified for state and/or federal grants/funds I would certainly apply for it.

Being non-profit does not preclude an organization from receiving grants to help with operations, improvements, and other business needs... Just as being non-profit doesn't preclude the business from paying it's executives (quite well in most cases).its also because the zoo is a non-profit organization
Any particular reason?
