I thought about spraypainting a big "DRUGS -------->" pointing to their door.

I will most likely confront the owner next time I see him. He owns multiple houses on my block, all of which are slums.

Why don't you just skip the confrontation and put a Shoot-n-See on your back?

Seriously, I an owner of a rental near 16th and Sherman. (I'm betting you aren't that much farther away. In fact, I keep picturing the property 2 doors down from mine as I read this thread.) You will not win this battle on your own merit. His rules are not your rules. Mostly because he doesn't have rule and he will play to win while you are playing by the rules. You lose. Your best bet is to ensure a semi-constant police presence in the area in the hopes that they will find another locale less visible to prying eyes. I'd like to say IMPD will get the job done, but the sad fact is that your problem is low priority (ask me how I know). If you don't have a bona fide crime in progress, and even then chances are 50/50 that anything will come of it, it probably isn't even worth calling it in.

Not a smart idea presenting yourself as opposition to the people in charge there though. Not smart.

Actually, a cookout would be HILARIOUS... especially if it was a "douchebag OC" style cookout... I can see it now, about a dozen marked and unmarked LEO cars, and the majority of us OCing with ARs on our backs as well.

    I'll bring some brats!

Geez, man. This is a crime-infested neighborhood occupied by people known to get huffy when their lifestyles starts to get cramped by do-gooders. Why you wanna be bringing the kids to such a place?

How about I wash my own car whilst eating donuts, all while wearing a Speedo?

Sure! Add a male prostitute decoy to the menu and see how much more traffic comes along! Just make sure the donuts are powdered and leave some under your nose.

Local krack house in the area my Daughter lived in a few years ago. Heavy traffic in the alley behind the house at all hours. We started posting up with a Camera. Took pictures of every car and person that rolled through. The neighbors all got involved. No one could come up with out being photographed. Sent letters to the house with some pics. Put notes on cars. Took pics of the cars stopped in the alley. Sent series of pics to the landlord. The traffic dried up and the idiots soon moved. No shots fired. If everyone is involved it is pointless for them to retaliate. Taking on an entire area is beyond there power.

Once you shine the light on them, cockroaches usually move on.

Now as to the cook out....I am in.

Yeah, but how? I'd be willing to pay an officer to sit in his patrol car out front. How much do off-duty officers get paid for this type of service?

I'm surprised you didn't call out the OP for complaining what the property owner is doing with his stuff. You're getting soft.

Yeah there was only, what one, half-hearted arguement referencing more laws to which I think I'm safe in assuming they were implying this wouldn't be a neighborhood nusiance if only drugs and prostitution were legalized.

Maybe we should legalize Drugs 'n' Prostitution as a single act. Ie, if you're using drugs you must also consort with a prostitute, and vice versa.

Obviously call when you see the activity. But that's why I added my next comment that your issue is low priority. Maybe if you mention the occupants own a dog or two, you could get a full-fledge raid.

Do you know anyone that owns/drives a retired Cop car?? You know, one of those older Fords with the spotlight still installed.

If so, see if they would park it in front of your house for a few days??

That would only get the dog shot. ;)
