I only see (from experience) carrying without one in the pipe when using a holster that doesn't quite have the security you'd like. When I first started carrying (and sometimes now) I did not chamber a round when carrying in my bellyband due to the thinness of the material protecting the trigger guard (and lack of manual safety). I always carry +1 otherwise, but when ultimate concealment is needed there are tradeoffs in security.

For example, I would never carry +1 in a "smart" carry holster.

I did for a year never had a second thought about it

I cant vote on your pole bc depending on the mood im in I carry different styles. Hammer driven, Striker fired, or Revolver I ALWAYS carry chambered and ready. It makes no sense not to imho.

You can make multiple choices. :) I agree though.

This was mainly for those weary about carrying chambered. They can look at the poll and see 98% do.

If you're scared to carry +1, cock the weapon with a snap cap in the chamber and carry in a safe area (home) until you realize that its been days, and the firing pin has not hit yet, the pistol is still cocked. Then poke yourself in the eye for not believing people who told you it would be fine!

I wonder why 3 people carry their revolver unloaded.
A police baton would be a better club than an empty revolver.
