I know...There were a couple of times that cat looked like it was about to grab hold of something painful...MAN! That would have hurt!

Not a pro, but they do sell a hi tech version of that forked stick to make a release easier.

I had to do this with a Conservation Officer two winters ago. A bobcat got stuck in a hunters snare. We held it down with a stick and cut the snare with side cuts Top 10 scariest thing I've done.

My guess would be using a catch pole or maybe tranquilizers because you still have a super ticked off bobcat feet away from you.

Not what I was expecting either. Glad it ended well. Not sure I could have accomplished the same release without releasing a bullet as well.
