I'm assuming some political assumptions were revisited after that brunch. I doubt the persuasive shouting from the left convinced them to support their cause.

Over here in France the "protesters" don't hesitate to throw their incendiary devices at police officers.
It happened a few years ago in Paris ...
Now that anti-riot unit is issued fire blankets to rescue fellow officers.Also fire-proof hoods.
Rioters also tried to burn police cars (with officers inside) multiple times.
