So does any one make there own, or do you just buy it?
I make my own for about 1/10 the cost of buying real tannerite.

Yes, it will exceed your expectations once you get it figured out. It took me a little while to get it figured out but I think I have it now. I've since uprooted a tree my mom wanted to get rid of and I turned a large maple stump into splinters because dad wanted it split. :D

That's my question to; how on earth is it legal to manufacture your own explosives on this level? In many countries, that's a car bomb....

Tannerite is as safe and stable as an explosive can be. It is ignited by the impact of a high velocity rifle round. Dropping it, or shooting it with a pistol round will not set it off. It cannot be ignited by fire or electrical current. Tannerite uses two separate components which are not explosive until they are mixed together. So the idea is that you buy the components, then assemble it at your home. It falls under the same laws that govern the sale of black powder or smokeless powder used for reloading. Check out the Tannerite website. They have a faq. Tannerite Exploding Targets Official Website

Does it have to be a centerfire rifle round, or can a rimfire set it off?
