I got an email this morning from a guy I do not know saying he wanted to by a gun I have listed in the INGO classifieds. Here was his email verbatim:
"Hi my name is XXXX and I'm interested in the 1911 you have on the IN gun owners forum. I actually created an account just to reply to that thread but I didn't know there was a probationary period before I could post anything. Anyways feel free to just respond to this or text me at XXX-XXX-XXXX"
I had never had this happen to me. For a moment, I considered it as I do want to sell the gun, but it just did not seem right for many reasons. So I sent him this response:
"I appreciate your interest in my firearm. However, the classified rules on INGO exist for a reason. I had to abide by them when I joined. I am unwilling to sell you this gun upon hearing that you just created an account to get access to me and to try to buy this gun.
If you want to join and contribute 50 quality posts to INGO or become a site supporter, I will then consider selling you the gun."
Any of you ever experienced this kind of situation? How did you deal with it?
