    Idiots.

Todd Starnes sums it up brilliantly: Who in their right mind who take a bunch of American teenagers to a war-torn, terrorist-infested country like Afghanistan?

Had they already been to north korea? Too many connections to get a flight into Somalia? Djibouti is too mainstream? Not enough violence in Yemen? It would've been much closer and much safer to go to a town in Mexico where rival drug cartels shoot it out on a regular basis.

Clueless libs. The same kind as the one's who run this country.

Buckle up, this is just beginning.

To their credit, most if not all were not foreign to the country. They went to visit extended family there for the first/maybe last time.

Played a bit of Russian roulette and wouldnt ya know, the wrong cylinder landed under the hammer.

THOSE are the folks that deserve to pay the $2,000 extraction costs.

There always seem to be clueless libs stuck in a ****hole country and need rescuing.

Several years back Americans were getting evac'd out of Lebanon. Italian Navy ship was at the dock, US was doing C2 from over the horizon. If I'm getting my sorry *** saved in a ****hole country, I'm sure as hell not complaining to the newsies about getting on an Italian Navy ship. I'm surprised somebody didn't push that ***** off the dock.

Work existed, but working for your food did not. Literal or allegorical reading Adam has to start working to survive where before things were just provided for him. See:

    Pre-Fruit Eating:

"Then God said, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food. 30 And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds in the sky and all the creatures that move along the ground—everything that has the breath of life in it—I give every green plant for food.” And it was so."

"The Lord God made all kinds of trees grow out of the ground—trees that were pleasing to the eye and good for food." "You are free to eat from any tree in the garden;"

    Post-Fruit Eating:

    "
    To Adam he said...

    “Cursed is the ground because of you;
through painful toil you will eat food from it
all the days of your life.
18 It will produce thorns and thistles for you,
and you will eat the plants of the field.
19 By the sweat of your brow
    you will eat your food

So, I don't think they really "missed the boat" on the notion, but regardless that is what the idea is attributed to "The Arab Mind".
Adam wasn’t working to survive before the Fall. He was working for purpose, direction, and satisfaction.

I think some of those verses you quoted were more defining their diet at the time. We didn’t eat animal meat at all until after the Flood.

Either way, the parallel passage in chapter 2 says to dress and keep the garden before the Fall

That would be to take care of and cultivate and make the garden grow and protect it.

After the Curse, that all became difficult and painful. And the ladies got painful childbirth.

The food was free though :)

And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.
16 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:

Never heard that before, but it does explain a great deal. For people like me growing up and living ag/industrial it makes no sense at all.

Without work, and in the beginning most work was agricultural, how can a society progress?
Easy...you subjugate people who are different from you and make them pay a tax. _They_ work to support you.

I think that small "software difference" is a big part of what has made us better off than them. We both have had our ways of justifying and rationalizing the subjugation of others. We subjugate by economic pecking-order, not religion. But we do it in a way that has everyone expanding the pie and contributing in some way, and that small "pro" mixed in with the "cons" has made all the difference. Our evil comes with a silver lining, because generation over generation, our society elevates itself on the backs of the oppressed. The suffering, objectionable as it is, leaves behind something of lasting value to the next generation. That world over there, notsa much, and that "software glitch" probably means they will never have shxt. We justify subjugation in the name of producing a product and a profit. In the Stan, who needs that when you can have a 15 year-old boy/girl that you're allowed to f*ck as much as you want? You can see the differing implications of that over the centuries. It turns out there really is something to the "Good old Protestant / Catholic (pick one) Work Ethic." Our evil is, at least, industrious. Theirs, on the other hand, creates nothing of lasting benefit. Here, the screw-your-neighbor types who create nothing are seen as deadbeats*, **. It's a dishonorable way to live your life. Over there? It's the "desired state" at the end of your striving.

No wonder Biden seems to dig them so much...

    *or, they used to be
    **unless you're a politician

And the vast majority of that equipment is export controlled. If you or I willfully provided most of the above list to a foreign entity, it would be a Federal crime. Think about that for a minute...

It doesn't. When everyone is hunter/gathering or nomadic herding there's no progression of society. There's no ability to support specialists or to accumulate resources to make society progress. Agriculture is very much the root of societal progression.
