.300 blackout was built for short suppressed barrels. Any barrel length past 16" (less actually)is a waste as it provides no benefit over shorter barrels as far as velocity goes.

May I ask why you're deciding on 300 BLK over 5.56 or a different caliber? The biggest positives about 300 BLK is running subsonic ammo suppressed out of an SBR. If you want velocity and a long barrel, then 5.56/6.8 is your answer. What's your intended use?
Already own 2 in 5.56 and 1 in .450. The 300 was just appealing to me. If the HPR law passes for deer season next year then this would give me another option. The 16" barrel keeps me from buying tax stamps. A suppressed, SBR would be sweet though.
