Add me to the list of Ruger, Browning supporters. The others are fun plinkers. A good target type Ruger or Buckmark will be a pleasure you can have for a lifetime and leave to your childern arter your gone. I've got a bull barrel Buckmark. Like Epsylum's Ruger target, it will punch the center bull out of targets all day long and will last forever. Why buy a good gun only to want a great gun later on? Both have nice crisp triggers that make you a better shooter. Your choice: toy or tool.
The only thing better would be a S&W 41 or a ture olympic pistol but they are truely dedicated target guns. The Browning and Ruger will hunt too.
I know the thread was origionally started to discuss favorate .22 pistols BUT, since Michiana brought it up, my fun boomer is a 357 Maximum Blackhawk or 44 Mag Super Blackhawk with some stout H-110 reloads (ported barrel. Really echos off the walls.
What matters is if the handgun "feels right" in your hands. Just like shoes, if it doesn't "feel right", you'll never wear them / shoot it enough to become proficient with it.

Next time I will take her to an outdoor range where there is less smell and noise.
I hear that is a nice range to shoot at and is in the city. Is it only open on weekends?
I'm thinking about buying a 22 handgun. I have three 22lr rifles and find them fun & alot cheaper than my AK to shoot. So I know how dirty they are and that feed problems are usual. I have several handguns. But they get expensive to feed. I want a fun, reliable, and affordable plinker. So what would you recommend? And why?
THE important stuff is bold!....lol THANKS! Turtle! Turtle!
