I read a great review on the new RO Operator 9mm today. Interesting.
I can tell you my household owns twice as many 9mm 1911s as 45 acp. 9mm is a hoot to shoot at half the price.

They are in my house anyway. LM keep your AR. Keep your Glocks. At least a G17 or 19 and a smaller G43 or G26. Whichever fits you best and you shoot best. But hard to beat a service sized and compact Glock for so everything reliability. Save up and buy yourself a 1911 in 9mm. Something like a Springfield RO. Have the mouse love on it a bit. Enjoy a hour cool range toy.

The pleasure of shooting a 9mm 1911 is undeniable. It's about like shooting a .22LR, but a 9mm projectile is thwapping the target! Plus, you get 2 more rounds than .45ACP.
On the other hand, a guy's first 1911 should probably be a .45ACP, just so he can get that part of his Man Card endorsed.

There is the man card issue.

The lovemachine has no kids.
And my man card is plenty big
Yeah, his wife does have the gear in a jar.
We can hope.
In that case, you can probably use it for traction by putting it under the tires of your Jeep when it gets stick in the snow. Oh, wait. Sorry!

I really need to add a 9mm 1911 to the family. I'd love to add a 38 Super but don't want to add yet another caliber to reload for. What I'd really like to find would be a good 10mm or even .40 Commander sized 1911. The only 10mm Commander I know of is an RIA and as reliable as they may be, they just don't do it for me lately. Dan Wesson needs to build a CCO or Commander sized all stainless 1911 in 10mm. Just for me.

My guess is STI makes a .40. Not sure about commander sized. Getting a .40 1911 to run can be a little tricky. For a 10mm commander talk to someone like AlllenM and see if he can piece one together for you.

I'd like to try a 9mm 1911.
