That is one funky looking stock. Never seen a shoulder pad down like that with that high of a cheek piece and that kind of pistol grip. Very interesting look. Wonder how it shoulders and fits.
That's the JM stamp, it's a real marlin. I had the same rifle and loved it. Sold it because my little carbine shot better and I wasn't afraid to knock it around. The cowboy was perfect...I regret letting it go now, oh well.

It would be much more cost effective if you are a reloader. Otherwise you wouldn't shoot it much due to ammo cost. I think it's way better than the 223 varmint caliber...unless you want it as a varmint gun, which an AR-16 is not quite accurate enough at distance, IMO.
So you're doing things with your LTCH that you wouldn't normally do without it...that is a dangerous way of thinking.
