14 parties ... and two with any chance of putting their candidate in the White House.
Look, dude, No. 1, I've previously said I don't always vote the party line. But in any case, I don't have to change parties 'cause you've got a fear of or extreme dislike of the Dems.
Also, Joe Biden is not...
I'm not victim and nobody's suppressing anything of mine.
Going into the polling place in June -- if we're voting in person -- getting a ballot and casting it however I see fit.
If you wanna be pissed 'cause I won't go into why I vote D, be pissed! Don't know which part of being an American says...
Wait, you're not the guy who said voting D is a threat to everyone here?
WTF?
And who do you think is coming to your house to kill you?
And what makes you think being a D makes me vote for every one of their candidates?
I was wrong. We had not reached clarity.
That's all real interesting.
Got zip to do with actually, legally obtaining and casting a ballot in Indiana, though.
And since I have pulled D ballots in the spring and never pulled an R ballot, I'm legally by definition a D. A member of the party. Now, if the chair of the DNC or the Indiana...
"And it's your choice to openly admit to being a democrat, which is a legitimate and mortal threat to any and all members of this community. If you didn't want to have to deal with the repercussions of that then you didn't have to make it an issue."
I sure do appreciate you clearing that up...
I was kind of defending the option to be in the guns discussion board and discuss guns and gunning without taking a lot of crap for being a Democrat.
You took it to mean I was obligated to defend or explain my politics.
Not the same thing at all.
But voting in the elections however one chooses...
.
If you think I'm going to watch IngoMike and Tombs and whoever else say my rights, or anyone's rights, are a matter to be dictated by their opinions ... nah, not so much.
Frankly, I think this whole thread should be in Politics ... in which case I'd never have entered it.
Individuals voting Democratic are voting to cut your life short?
No, voting isn't compulsory. It is, however, a right and it's not determined by who or what you take personally.
One, I have every right to vote in any primary in which I abide by the rules.
Two, that's my point: Two private parties control a public system. And it's designed to stay that way. The choices for the highest office in the land realistically are choked down to "Column A" or "Column B."
Three, if...
Thank you for your civil tone. But, no, I'll decline the opportunity to state or argue my political priorities or beliefs a case-by-case basis here. Don't feel particularly compelled to, the possibility of cheers or jeers aside. And if it belongs anywhere on a gun board, IMO, it should probably...
Last two states I've lived in, one had to ask for a given ballot or declare party at the primary polling place.
I don't like that, nor agree with it and in fact think its nothing more than hegemony by the two major parties, the establishment making sure things don't get out of grasp. But...
You have absolutely no idea what I'm fine with or not fine with.
I count myself a D, but I've voted for Rs in the past and may or may not again. I also do not count independent or libertarian options as outside the realm of consideration.
I refuse to do anything in lockstep. I don't give my...
It's entirely your right to vote based on a single issue.
It's entirely mine to assess each candidate in each race and weigh in my mind what I believe best for the township, county, city, state and country.
If you are greatly concerned about Dems being "among 'us'," I'd suggest you get hold of...
Truly, if I'm standing when this thing is over, I'm going to make a whole lot of empty brass.
I think I've run out of gear to clean & organize. Need some trigger time.
I count myself a Dem.
I'm also life or better NRA, 2AF, JPFO, GAO, state association, etc., and hold a hold bunch of instructor, coach and RO certs. And, yes, I have taught, RO'd, been a volunteer match or shoot worker, etc.
This liberal isn't buying guns right now. Prices are far from optimum...
doddg, glad you're happy with it. Lovely carry gun IMO ... just didn't work out with my hands quite as well I'd have liked. Me and the ol' Shield -- which has Talon's in the skateboard-like texture on it -- still toolin' along together.
When the stay-at-home order is lifted and things get closer...
