i usually stop by that one to pick up a couple bags of beans for my pot at work. i'd be willing to blow a half day off work to hang out for a bit if a few of us NWI guys'n'gals want to get together.
illinois' laws are so dumb.
my dad lives near the southern border of cook and will counties. brother and i are building him an AR for his 60th this year, and it pisses me off that he won't be able to take it home w/ him because of their stupid laws
oh well, guess it'll just have to sit...
+1
when i finish building up the AR for my dad's 60th, i'll be doing a 10.5" sbr + 5.56 suppressor through FTE. have to get off my butt and get a trust established w/ the wife first
from dyer, just take main all the way over the blvd. to the road right before broad street. i stop in there from time to time on my way home from work, since i live just on the other side of 30 right down cline. ammo prices are pretty decent and they had some good deals when the road was all...
they do price match the website
price what you want online before you go, or use your smart phone to look it up online while in the store
when checking out, mention that its cheaper on the website, they'll pull it up, and do the price override. i've never had the store not honor the policy
currently drooling over getting a SR1911, but for now my favorite it is my hawkeye all-weather in .30-06 w/ Hogue overmolded stock. shoots well, but i think at some point i might upgrade her with a lilja bull/heavy barrel
the wife had a good time, said she wants to get together and meet some of the other wives too, maybe a slightly more formal meet & eat in the future??
also, i was going to print a couple fliers to bring with, but there's another gun show at the patrician hall in schererville on the 28th and...
i got one, the big bonus to them is how easy they are to take down for cleaning. little button up front of the trigger guard lifts it up and pivots off back of the frame. i like the full rail along the top; i threw a Burris FastFire II on mine, tons of fun
my only complaint is the follower on...
ooo ooo ooo ooo
(jumping up and down in my chair at work raising my hand)
me me me me
(same thing with the wife if we can get grandma to watch the boys)
aside from mounting them on the handguns, how are the units themselves? good at holding 0's and build like a tank?
i will be looking into getting a red dot for the AR i'm building up. looking around i ran across a deal for an rmr that i was going to post a new thread about, but the search...
2 weeks ago i took a ride from lake co. to Bradis just to pick up a SR40. Mark held one for me with the black friday pricing because i had the crew out working on the house that weekend. i more than plan to spread the love around the whole state if shops are willing to give me a good price and...
1 - always wear safety glasses during take down / reassembly - recoil plug to the eye won't be fun
2 - work in a room w/o carpet, lots of little parts, and will not be fun finding stuff shooting across the room
3 - don't obsess over a 2lb trigger, 5lb is as low as you want, its more than...
one bonus i guess living in unincorporated territory, i get to deal with the lake co. sheriffs and not the crown point, st. john, or schererville police. i've only had one semi-negative encounter with them, the several others have been pleasant, and downright professional. any other time i've...
are you dead set on something that has to be "attached" to the belt? have you thought about using paddle holster attachment for the serpa(s)? they might be less expensive and offer good compromise between options, price, and interchangability
i love mine, i have the plus, works great even without weights
worth the money?... depends. if you have a good set of bags already, then probably not. you can use it prone, but bags would still be better on the ground. but otherwise, for plinking, sighting in, and general bench shotoing, yeah...
