I've been enjoying a Ruger SR22 pistol for quite a while now. I haven't had any problems with it, but I do clean it after every range trip or two.
Before you run out and buy your new toy, can you find .22lr ammo? If so, where?
I don't really consider firearms or firearm accessories to be an investment that accrues a monetary value fast enough to be worthwhile. If you love firearms and want to collect, that's fine. If you're willing to buy a firearm and hold onto it for 20-40 years, you could just as easily put your...
If you're looking for something that will increase in value during the next "scare," take a look at loading up on high (normal) capacity magazines, or just any AK, AR, or SKS "assault rifle." Any mag over 10 rounds will have increased value, because 10 seems to be the target number for antis...

You can rent firearms at Beech Grove Firearms, and I've seen people there getting on-range instruction. It's a very nice, clean range to shoot at. I'd check them out.

I'm curious too. Some things he shoots we can pretty well figure out what's going to happen, but every now and then I'm surprised at how well something does or doesn't work. Those are the videos that I really enjoy.

I got my SR 22 early on when they came out, and it's been a pleasure to shoot. The trigger isn't as crisp as I would like, but for plinking, having a good time, and as a tool for new shooters to try out, it's been excellent.
Somewhere between 5 and 15 rounds.
For me, it's usually 15 9mm, carrying a Glock 19 IWB, or 5 .38spc, carrying a Ruger LCR in my pocket. (Sometimes both!)
Okay, okay, maybe a Glock 26 IWB sometimes as well.
If you're having trouble deciding what to carry, buy some of each, and carry them all...
