So my friend showed me his Walther P38 the other day. His grandfather brought it back after the end of WWII. It was apparently given to him by a German Colonel when he surrendered. All the serial numbers match and the Nazi Eagle and swastika is stamped on the right side of the gun. Other than...
Try taking a look at "Grid Down Reality Bites" by Bruce Buckshot Hemming and Sara Freeman. When I first started reading the book I found it a little weird but as I kept reading I enjoyed it more and more. I'll admit that Rawles has a lot more helpful tips and knowledge in his books but the "Grid...
CountryBoy19 Is spot on on everything he's said. I've been a medic for the past five years and just got back from my second deployment. The only tourniquet I pack in my aid bag is the SOF-T. They are a much better option than the CAT if you can get your hands on them.
In my book, these are...
I know I've seen quik-clot packets at Gander Mountain but I'm pretty sure that they're the old granular type of quik-clot. Not real sure on that. I'm an active duty medic on my second deployment and we don't use those anymore. Haven't for at least 5 years now. If you can find the quik-clot...
I've been deployed to Afghanistan since late Feb and have been wondering how the prices have been. I normally buy my ammo from Gander Mountain but it looks like I might have to start looking in other places.
The P226 is a great gun. I picked up a used one for a little over $900 and I love it. Mine is a 9mm to and it came with rear night sights and 4 mags but was a discontinued model. Not sure how that really affected the price though. As fare as i know $899 is a pretty normal price for one in good...
Thanks for the help. My friend an I found some 9mm ammo online that was +P but the weight of the bullet was below 100 grains. He said it was in the 80s and it said +P ammo. We were both a little puzzled by it since neither of us had seen it before. I need to find a manual for mine just to be...
Difference between +P and +P+ ammo
So I'm trying to understand the difference between the +P and P+ ammo. I'm sure it's pretty simple but right now i'm drawing a blank and i don't want to buy the wrong type of ammo.
I have the rifle that you're talking about. It's the Savage Model 42. It's a nice little rifle. The only 2 things i don't like about it is it's a youth model so the stock is just a little too short for me. Also the rear leaf sight is a little small and it's kinda hard to use. I plan on making...
My friend flew with 2 handguns in a manufacturer case to California. He just had to have the case locked and I think he had to have his bag locked as well. I can't remember. On his way back he flew with a new shotgun and it wasn't in a manufacturer case. He did say though that they had to be in...
I'm in afghanistan right now on my second deployment. I have to wear eye pro everywhere i go but this time i'm a POG on the base so i don't need ear pro. My first deployment though i would normally use earpro or have them with me on patrol. But if you were in the trucks we normally had these...
If it was near Atterbury then it's possible that it was a drone. The Army has all kinds of small drones these days. Some do make a lot of noise and some you'll never hear. And there's always the possibility that the police near by have a small one or it's just a civilian playing with an rc...
Bingley is right. ESS makes some pretty good eyepro for the price. I'm in the Army and the Crossbow series is one of the types that they issue us in basic as well as when we deploy. The other eyepro they issue us is made by Revision. Mostly Revision Sawfly. The sawfly will go for about $80 for...
You can find good parts on BCM. Also check out Daniel Defence and Spikes Tactical for the larger parts like the upper and lower receivers. Aimsurplus.com has parts in as well but do a little research on the parts before you buy. But this goes for pretty much and gun part you're looking at.
I have a Springfield M1A SOCOM. It's a great rifle and i've never had any problems with it. I think any of the Springfield M1As would be a good choice. If you want to get an AR 10 you should take a look at the POF308. I think that will be my next big buy in the future.
The Springfield Armory Lightweight Operator might be a good choice. They have the skeleton style trigger she might like and the sight are tritium 3-dot. I've seen them go for about $800
I've seen mixed reviews. Some people get great rifles while others get the bottom of the barrel. And when I see the bad reviews I normally see even worse from the customer service. I got to check out a 308 and I like the design and the feel of it but I don't think I would risk getting a bad one.
