thoughts on the savage over/under .410/.45 long?

    Um, you'd better look again.

    I don't believe that those are chambered for .45Colt.

    They are available in .22Lr or .22wmr/.410, but I've not seen one to take the .45Colt.

    The concept is a great one. I have the older version known as the model 24, and it's a great little squirrel/rabbit rifle/shotgun combo.

    THe newer model is known as the model 42, but I've not seen them chambered for .45Colt.

    I have the rifle that you're talking about. It's the Savage Model 42. It's a nice little rifle. The only 2 things i don't like about it is it's a youth model so the stock is just a little too short for me. Also the rear leaf sight is a little small and it's kinda hard to use. I plan on making the rear sight a little better with a dremel to fix that and i'll probably just leave the stock as is.

    Nice little guns for small game hunting but too heavy to carry very long. I use mine for squirrels, works great.
