      Friend or Foe

I would guess this has been beaten to death and today I am "one of those guys" who didn't search for it already. Having said that, the best gun smith I've ever met (was an Armourer in Vietnam) and a fine human being to boot, turned me on to an article: Gun Owners Separate Friends from Foes -...

      A Doctor's office that's "Conceal Friendly"

OK so I don't have enough posts to PM....bummer. I appreciate all of your insights into this. Hoosierdoc, I do actually have a question for you (is it hi-jacking if you actually started the thread?): I heard on the radio yesterday someone's concern over Obamacare using records gained between...

      A Doctor's office that's "Conceal Friendly"

red_zr24x4, PM just sent. I'd like to get this whole doctor switching thing over with before Obozo care goes into full swing.

      A Doctor's office that's "Conceal Friendly"

Moderators, I'm not certain this is the forum for this, but here goes: I currently go to the Doctor (my GP) in Broad Ripple near where I live, he's with the St. Vincent Physician Network. There's a sign on the door essentially saying "No Weapons Allowed". I like the doctor a lot, but don't...

How I spent my Christmas Vacation. (56K Beware)

I'm totally with you on this one: "Why am I suddenly coveting another man's garage?!?:D". Plus the skills, tip of my hat to drgnrobo, I couldn't have said it better myself. I also know the wife very well, the only way she'd let my son touch equipment like that is if she were overseas...

340 PD ... Bring The Pain!

You aren't kidding on "bring the pain". I have one, recently a good chum took a video of it at the range. Here's the line-up. 5 rounds: 1. home reload .38 2. FMJ purchased ammo .38 3. Federal Hydro-shock +P .38 4. Federal hollow point .357 5. home reload .38 I'm going to ask my...

am I crazy for picking up spent brass

I am (to coin a phrase used here) a "Brass Whore" for sure. Jtull01 I clean in a light acid bath, then tumble ALWAYS with the primer IN because the media can get caught inside the primer pocket. I couldn't afford to shoot if I didn't reload. I use a Dillon tumbler that I've been using for 18...

Shooting a third party? (scenario inside)

You make a good point there. It wouldn't surprise me if older people do try that. When I first posted my assumption was that I was convinced this was a Predator (meth head, Venezuelan BG, Circus headhunter etc.) and their buddy figuring to collect some ransom - trust me when I say this...

Shooting a third party? (scenario inside)

Gosh, I hate to say it, but legals be damned. If someone is trying to take my child, I'm drawing and firing as fast and accurately as possible towards the vehicle. That may be an unpopular decision here, but the reason I have a LTCH is to protect me and mine from this sort of stuff.

What reason did you choose what you carry?

I went with the S&W 340PD .357. I went with it because at 12oz unloaded I'm never uncomfortable having it on me. It does me no good locked up in a safe. I do carry a speed loader with it and load .38 +P because I find the speed loader works better with the gun using the shorter OAL...

      Guns at work

I've taken advantage of it. I drive a 13 year old import that looks like it was shot at and missed, but $h!t at and hit, so no one would ever consider there's a very expensive handgun in it. I don't work in the nicest part of town and would not be caught flat footed here.

Thinking about getting a mouse gun.

I don't know if I'd call this a "mouse gun" but I carry a S&W 340 pd. It's .357, weighs around 13 ounces and is on me everywhere but airports, work and when I'm asleep and the alarm is on. .357's are punishing to the hand to practice with so I practice with .38's. It's so light the elastic in...

      The man who shot himself

He's really lucky he didn't blow his knee off. Lucky guy.

      Cowboy Action

It's really all in what you prefer. For CTN, he was looking for something more personalized. The Galco rig looks pretty quality from what I can see, nothing wrong with that. CTN went with what I did because he'd seen some other work I'd done, some western, some for modern 9mm's, .380's...
