      i've used the hatchet from my OH S*&T kit in my pickup to perform a few ad hoc decapitations of wounded/dying animals. it's horrible, but it ends it quickly for the little fuzzy thing that's suffering so much. but an animal too large i wouldn't hesitate using a firearm to do the job.
