By the post count of OP I think it's probably a troller. BUT there is no reason to be mean and offensive. Keep in mind 'freedom of speech', I respect people who stand up for their believes as long as they don't try to convert me. Now respect doesn't mean I agree with them but respect is a big plus in my book. A good debate though is often a lot of fun. Welcome to Ingo.

Welcome to INGO. My one bit of advice is this. Whatever you have to say in a politics thread, make it well thought out, reasoned, and defendable. You'll get torn to shreds if you aren't.

Of course - tagging for troll. IANARight, IANALefty, IANALawyer, and I will likely stay at a Holiday Inn Express in the near future.

I do believe in redistribution of wealth and resources...but I also believe in accountability. It would be a problem with those who wanted money and would not contribute to the system. With that in mind we would have to find some way to provide the basics of life but not much beyond. Perhaps it would be a modified system where there are those who got extras for participating...I don't think of myself as a classic socialist...I do think however that there are many of those "who have" and unfortunately many of those who "have not" and its not by choice, lack of motivation or willingness to work. As I said, accountability is key. My question would be how could we work together to secure the well being of our fellow man...to include active participation in taking care of themselves with assistance from others.

Oh...btw...our family does believe in giving to the community so we give when we can...though we do not have much money.

I hope not to pretend to have the answers to all these questions but when I see the world as it is today it compells me to think of ways to help.

Welcome. Take what is coming in good cheer. Know that there are two ways to do INGO:

    Gun stuff only
Gun stuff + all the rest

The path is up to you and you will harvest a variety of PM's, responses and rep accordingly.

Just remember, which path is up to you and you can change at any time.

Oh, and hope to meet you around Bloomington at some point,

Though I may be a liberal/socialist I respect alternate ideas about the world we live in. One thing is for sure I believe in individual liberty and defending that by any means. I grew up with airguns, pocket knives and got my first handgun when I could shortly after turning 21. Any other liberal minded guys here? And to all you right wingers who want to start a fight I'll be down the corner at Red's ready to thumb wrestle ya!! :D

Dude good for you for not being afraid of who you are... but you contradicted yourself right there a little bit.

I'm new to the lingo of bulletin boards...what is a troller?

A troll is a poster who joins and posts just to create an uproar not because they actually believe what they say. That is what people are accusing you of.

I'm new to the lingo of bulletin boards...what is a troller?

Trolling is starting a thread with the intended purpose of pissing people off; though, I do not take that from your first post.

One thing that has bothered me, a classical Liberal, and some modern Liberals is, "What are Liberal principles?"

I have yet to have a Liberal be able to put any into words.

For instance, you are for "redistribution of wealth", which entails using the force of government to take other peoples property, something you could not do yourself legally which is an illegitimate use of government. Some of the classical Liberal principles are Natural Rights and Limited Government. Under these auspicious principles, our Constitution was drafted.

So that begs the question, what are Liberal principles?

Most Liberals start pointing at the right, but let me tell you that the Social Conservatives are no better using the force of government to do their bidding.

BTW: I am a Libertarian and a classical Liberal in belief.

So Ol'Bluesmoke... I am a little light on my ammo, can you "re-distribute" your wealth? I could also use a few more guns...

Welcome to the group :ingo:, but I don't think you are going to fit in very well:ar15:...

You might want to try: RevLeft :noway:

Where in the Constitution does it grant our government the power to redistribute wealth?

With that covered. We already do have a system where people are provided with the basics, it's called America. In our country, you are born, are free to learn, free to get a job, free to purchase property, free to grow your own food, free to raise animals for clothes or purchase nearly anything you wish with your paycheck.

I also have an idea for a modified system. I mind my own business, you mind your own business. If you choose to come to me and steal my money, I will choose to take out my firearm and defend it with force.

I didn't think you were allowed to have more than one account on INGO? What is more harmful to the forum, allowing people to have more than one account or allowing us to discuss religion?
