I've been looking to buy a 50 BMG for a while, but its very hard for me to justify the price for the "name brand" Barrett. Anyone out there own a Bushmaster? or maybe shot both? Is the Barrett really worth it in the end? Of course all advice is welcomed and appreciated!

Never shot a 50 but have handled Bushmasters, Noreens, Barretts, LARs, and Armalites.

The Bushmaster is just dayum, it's a tank and kinda clunky IMO, would rather get an Armalite. I'd probably look into Blue Grass Armory before I went with a Bushmaster as well

The Barrett is a Barrett though so has that cool factor but if I'd go that route I'd probably go all out an get a 107 just so I could throw a silencer on it (since the 82s can't be suppressed).

Bolt guns wouldn't have the problem.

I like the bullpup 50s just so you can try and shave some of the OAL down

ar50's are reasonable , and very accurate, not finiky like a barrett. just buy good glass and 50bmg is not a very scope friendly caliber.
