As someone who has ACTUALLY looked for stuff like this and/or evidence in large open areas, it is FAR from guaranteed to be spotted. I appreciate that posters here feel it's a "no brainer" but alas, real life is more difficult than the internet may seem. Depending on the distance, the lighting, shadows, angles, etc, a human eye might miss a partial barrel silhouette. The backpack/vests would look like dark objects until you get closer. But they did their job and I'm glad for it.
There are always people who have keen eyes, trained or natural. I'm sure a GOOD hunter has those abilities.How much does being a lifelong hunter matter?
Is it just a wives' tail that hunters have an experienced keener eye for things out of place in the environment? Much less any kind of movement?
