All jokes aside, I wish more women would go to gun stores by themselves.
I had to beg a bunch of times to bring my girlfriend to a gun store with me.

Oh, I agree. I'm just trying to get a rise out of JetGirl. Heck, I get a better deal at Bradis if I take my wife in with me. They like her a heck of a lot better. HA!

Maybe I've just been lucky, but I have been treated very well in the shops I've visited. I would even go so far as to say exceptionally well at some. As with any shopping though, if I get less than acceptable service, I know there are plenty of other places out there that would be happy to have my money.

I don't know about borrowing the wife. She's a handful. That, and it might throw Kenny off his game. He has to hug her every time she goes in.

    I still neg rep!!

Careful! Methinks she's on the warpath now. :abused:

I love being a kid in a gunstore. I walk around and talk about guns. Then the people who work at the store figure out that I know more about guns than them

Just didnt act like he had time to deal with me or my questions. I was asking about the range getting a feel for the place. Decided it wasnt worth my time or money.

Nobody knows what to do when a woman walks in by herself, anywhere!

    :):

Yes I have seen that a lot, not just with guns.
If you are a woman most gun dealers will assume that you dont know anything about guns, that you just want something that looks cute in your pink purse or something that makes neat little holes in bad guys without breaking your cute nails.
If you are a man, on the other hand, they assume that you know all about guns, probably own a dozen already, even though you are coming to buy your very first gun and your wife knows more about guns than you do.

Sometimes I dont think they realize how they treat women or are mean in purpose.
Some are maybe acting like real jerks, in that case you should tottaly leave the store. :yesway:

Im also wondering if some of them also take advantage of the fact that you a woman.Like trying to sell you crap that you dont need, thinking that you dont know anything about guns.
It would be nice to do a test, one of you expert ladies could walk in a store and act like your are clueless about guns, and see what they try to sell you.
Well i am an independent women and i don't care for purses and couldn't careless if my nails are done. LOL I love my blue jeans and t-shirts.

I know there are all kinds of gun shops just like there are all kinds of gun owners. Sometimes ya just got to walk away. I work with the public and see all kinds of people the gun world is no exception.

I am interested in hearing about other womens experiences when shopping at the gun shops. The good and the bad!

I am the first to say i have walked out of a few. I can spend my money elsewhere.

I have had very positive experiences at the local gun shop. :)
I will remember them next time i make a purchase.

If you are closer to the northern part of Indiana, I am a girl who works IN a gun store :) I would sooner hook a girl up than some of the dudes I gotta deal with any day ;)

Trying to get my gf to sign up to the forum. She has requested the following nearly every time:
12 Gauge Mossberg or else some other ungodly large shoulder mounted weapon (currently the Zastava PAP is in her sights).
Ruger SP101 .357 magnum (which she purchased)
    10 MM EAA Witness.

The local gun stores know not to mess around and offer her "pink" guns.
