Rental apartment has wifi. My phone found it, wife phone won't. Reset router, no change. Turn off wife phone no change. My phone wouldn't see it yesterday but did today.

I tried manual entry of SSI and password, still didn't see it.

Movistar router. European if it matters.

Pull the battery from the phone... I have had similar situations with my phone and just turning it off didn't help.

This is based on her not having an apple type phone that I don't think you can take apart.

Euro router is channel hopping to EU channels since they are the least cluttered. Force the router to a US channel or replace it. We have some overlap, but they have a few out of our band.

In addition, not every wifi radio will allow use of channels outside of certain regulatory domains. Depending on the model of phone, the hardware may just not allow usage of channels higher than 11 that are restricted here in the states.

    How to force it?

Phones only. We are in rental, no laptop with us.

Log into the router with your phones internet browser. You should be able to force it to a different channel.
Google search the router name and model to find out the IP and type that into the browser. Probably 10.0.0.1 or 192.168.1.1
