Both of our modern hoopties unlock when you put them in park.
which is why you can usually tweak the settings. There is NO WAY I want my car to unlock all doors, just because it goes into park.
I don't like that option either.which is why you can usually tweak the settings.
As I recall I had to change mine from park to key removal.

Thanks, I'll have to scroll through the setting and see what I find.my 2009 Escape had the options of
Auto lock at 12 mph.. yes/no
Unlock in park.. yes/no
So, I have it auto lock at 12mph.
But I turned off the unlock in park.
I don't want to be having my doors unlock in some places, just because I'm in park.
Interesting, there is no way I ever want my doors to lock, although I've gotten used to it in most of the vehicles. There is NO WAY I want my car to unlock all doors, just because it goes into park.
Yeah….only time I need my doors locked is when I am NOT in the vehicle.Interesting, there is no way I ever want my doors to lock, although I've gotten used to it in most of the vehicles.
If it locks itself, it'd dang better sure unlock itself. Put it back the way you found it!!
The majority of the vehicles sit with the keys in them 24/7, so I know it's a different world than most.
Pull the key from the ignition? What is this 2010?Mine only unlocks when you pull the key from the ignition. But unlock at park is another (totally less safe) option as well. You just have to go into the driver convenience settings and tweak them.
