I could be completely off base or have the wrong manufacturer in mind, but wasn’t there some political issue that had people avoiding Springfield a few years ago?
As they are being replaced by the XDM Elite.XDM line has been discontinued.

The 10mm they just brought out is gone too. All they have is the sawed off version. As they are being replaced by the XDM Elite.
I've noticed they take away from the lineup then a short time later they add an improved version. XDS -> XDS Mod.2 -> XDS OSP.The 10mm they just brought out is gone too. All they have is the sawed off version.
Bring out a 17+1 XDM Elite in 10mm. I bet it will sale goodI've noticed they take away from the lineup then a short time later they add an improved version. XDS -> XDS Mod.2 -> XDS OSP.
But who knows for sure.
Sounds like you are one of the lucky ones. Under stress, they tended to fail more than other platforms. Several major trainers have said they have had a higher than usual failure rate for these than other pistols. That's just cold, really cold.
I bought an XD 40 shortly after they came out and used/carried it for years. Thousands of round with no issue of any kind.
Why did I sell it? I'm weird according to many on this forum, I prefer to have a thumb safety! M&P's (gen 1) and 1911's, have a 92fs but the darn safety works backwards so it isn't in the carry rotation.
I thought that pertained to a Glock not a XD
I have seen some failures. Most were directly related to not getting the grip safety depressed correctly. The magazines also seem to be less robust.Sounds like you are one of the lucky ones. As I recall I think when I took a class we had a student with one fail.
