Why does feeling young hurt so much?

Today was our hospital softball tournament. Haven't played in years. I played the first game fine, then I went to buy cleats. Dick's does not have a good selection of size 12 shoes and I picked the cheapest pair they had (no jokes about how they look).

Second game I went for an extra base and slid into third. Gravel infield. I was in shorts. Sliding is just a habit from my soccer days and I didn't think too much of it, until I stood up. Youch.

My daughter's softball uniforms have always been shorts with knee high socks and the parents and coaches wonder why the girls never want to slide.

Dumbest kid thing I did as an adult was popping wheelies on a bicycle and ended up spraining both ankles...

Easy answer is now when you hurt yourself, you're sober! At least that's my excuse. I don't ever recall playing softball without drinking.
