The state also thinks a .410 is acceptable. I'd take a 10MM handgun over a .410 every time. The state seems to think it acceptable
I've got a Springfield XDm in 10mm I was thinking about deer hunting with. Who thinks it's an adequate round and platform for a clean kill?
Son #1 was hunting in a state that allows 9mm above a certain lbs of force. He used his P80-17L. A 10mm at that distance should work too.
Texas, for starters. Check out the field reports:What state was this and what load was used? I’m very intrigued by a 9mm deer!
I think it's safe to say with the right ammunition and shot placement it will take down deer of any size. That's a big deer!
Yes, Texas deer are about half the size of our deer on average. A 9MM wouldn't be my first choice but with the right ammo it would certainly get the job done on deer that size.Texas, for starters. Check out the field reports:

Mr. Camp has been dead for some years now. Some of that info is showing its age, but most of still accurate.
Please keep in mind that, as was related to me by Mr. Camp back in the day, Texas deer are not Northern whitetail. They're smaller.
I do wonder why the .45acp isn't approved for deer hunting in Indiana as long as loads above a certain power factor are used.
Happen to need some new/slightly used full metal clips for the M610? Sold the gun, got quite a few clips though.I finished a wounded deer with my s&w610 and another with glock40. 180 xtp worked well, goal is to down one this fall with a 10mm.
