Whats your favorite barrel solvent/cleaner?

I shoot mostly lead and am in the market for a different type of solvent/cleaner.
What do you use and/or what works best for that kind of shooting?

Might wanna look into the Montana X-treme solvents. Look through these pages. I use that, Sweet's 7.62, Kroil, and Hoppe's 9. Just depends on the gun and other cleaning materials I'm cleaning.

Hoppe's for my chambers and barrel work. I use a spray in, let foam and clean out stuff in a can (Outer's) that works well. That foaming stuff seems to make the barrels shine!

I like Breakfree CLP and Hoppes No 9.

I do the Hoppes 9 and CLP as well. Run a few wet patches of Hoppes 9 first followed by a dry patch. If it comes out clean, I soak a patch in Breakfree CLP and run it through. You would be amazed at how much more it gets out! I let the CLP soak for a while, and depending on how bad, follow with more CLP soaked patches, then dry.

KleenBore Lead Away patches are great for removing lead deposits. For general cleaning I like BoreTech Eliminator followed with CLP.

I use a home brew called Ed's Red and love it. Costs about $15 a gal to make, and a gal should last a long, long, long time!!

SLIP2000 725 Gun Cleaner for pretty much all my cleaning chores, although a little Kroil or Gun Scrubber comes in handy sometimes for the hard-to-reach places.

SLIP2000 Gun Lube or EWL for lubrication.

It is a trick I learned as a young private back in the early '90's.
Disassemble your weapon covering the parts with the shaving cream, spray it down the barrel.
Now rinse under hot water and oil.
Tada clean M-16...
