Unfortunarely, that price is $300 more than most want to spend. Quality doesn't matter, cheap, instant gratification is the name of the game! You read it here, internet experts agree!
Never ask after purchasing.
The Aero OEM rifles are good if you do not have the money for a 6920. Notice, you have the money for a 6920.....
Its a decent budget rifle. I'd buy one of those over a smith. Specs are better. Comes with a full auto profile bcg, ballistic advantage barrel, etc...
The trick is to not put more money into it than you have to. I wouldn't put a $200+ rail on it. Put an ALG or other excellent, but cheap, rail on it. Get someone's take off buttstock off of eBay. Keep the budget rifle a budget rifle. And if you have the money for a 6920, get that instead.
Or hell, if you want to wrench a bit, the Sionics kit at westernsport is an absolutely stupid deal. For about $800 total, you have an absolute top tier rifle.
Larue is also doing stupid cheap deals right now.....you can buy their "ultimate ar" kit and end up with a larue ar for $750 out the door.
So short answer.....you're putting too much money into the Aero. If you have $700-850, there are better options. If you have $500 and can't save a couple hundred more, the Aero is a good option.
Is the handguard you referred to designed to fit over a milspec barrel nut? I don't want to change that... Links would be great... thanks!
I'm glad we at a point where what I'm building can be considered overpriced

Wow that is pretty!I had already ordered the Apex and received it today. I have not installed it yet, but I can’t imagine how it could be any better made. This thing is exquisite. I have no idea how I can buy it for $203 shipped and anyone can make any money along the way.

Wow, if not for phrasing...Looks nice. Post some pics and thoughts once you install it and run the gun. I've heard good things about how nice those tubes feel in hand.
I've got a 15" gator grip handguard by apex and I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one. The big knurls are really grippy and feel great in the hand. That being said, I also have...uh, gotta count in my head, 4 centurion forends as well.
I love Centurion. Made right here in IN.....and their owner and CS are absolutely top notch.
