    Yes it's the same one. But from what I have found the testing stated under "certain Conditions" the SR9 could fire if dropped with safety off, and one in the pipe. The opinion of most is that it is "Lawyer Speak". I've found the pistol to be very reliable and after break in very smooth. Being a lefty I thnk the ambidextrous controls a plus. The size, weight, and ergonomics I feel are excellent. I think after Ruger gets over this bump in road the SR series will really take off either in a compact version or .40sw.
    Ok, I wasn't sure if you were aware or not. Just don't drop it near me, and we will be fine. :):

    I saw a video with Massad Ayoob and he actually struck the pistol with a rubber mallet trying to get it to discharge...nothing happened.
    But if you happen to be standing next to me I'll TRY not to drop it!:draw:

    Tried carrying a Kahr cw9 but just didn't enjoy shooting it. I should have never left my first love. But I have returned from my straying ways. My carry is a G26 in OD pearce grip extention with HST as carry ammo.

    My new Bodyguard

    I picked up my new S&W 638 Bodyguard at Beech Grove Firearms yesterday afternoon and after work ran down to Atterbury to try it out. I love my Ruger BUT I can shoot this new baby SO much better!!! Thanks, Greg and everyone at BG Firearms for helping me ID exactly what I need!! Oh, yeah....and thanks for a great deal!!! I REALLY love this new 638!!!:thumbsup:
