Just watched Away on Netflix. The story of five astronauts traveling to Mars, I definitely recommend watching this new series.

No violence, not much cursing, no nudity, couple mild PG sex scences. . . . I would say fairly family friendly.

I re-watched S1 of Cobra Kai + a couple S2 episodes. I got some friends hooked on it too. :):

My other show now is S2 of The Boys on Amazon Prime. 3 episodes were released. Another gets released today iirc.

I saw the first episode of Cobra Kai - it would have been so much better if they flipped it: Daniel becomes a used car salesman and turned evil, Johnny turned into a good guy down on his luck.

But instead, they played it safe and it turned into a lackluster rehashing nostalgia aimed at modern-day teens (and my wife).

If you like British detective series, "Murder City" on Amazon isn't bad. Each mystery is solved within the hour segment, so no long term reveals.

I just started the series Boss with Kelsey Grammar and a host of other recognizable actors.

I was skeptical about an eight year old series that only made it two years. Especially one about Chitown politics. So far so good, in the first few episodes. I like the way the show is put together.

FYI - this is a pretty racy show with the smokin' hottie from "Murder in the first" naked and doing the nasty every episode so far.

I've been meaning to watch that, but haven't gotten around to it yet. I haven't seen the movies since the 80's.

Watched the first episode (and half the second) of The Boys season 2. So far it's been a chore to watch and hasn't held my interest. The first season was good enough that I'll give it another go and see if it picks up and gets interesting.

Forgot 'Generation Kill' existed but I stumbled upon it on Amazon Prime last night(it might be part of the HBO add-on). I'd only seen like one episode when it originally aired but I started it last night and I'm 4 episodes in.

I will be a second and third for both Hell or High Water and Generation Kill. I've seen both several times and they're both in my favorites camp.

In fact... I'm still angry that Hell or High Water didn't win Best Picture. Moonlight won that year...

I also confess that I'm a Ben Foster fan. I'm assuming most of you guys have seen 3:10 to Yuma, but you may have missed Galveston and that's also on my suggested list. Looks like it's available on Prime with the HBO companion add-on.

So my Domestic Supervisor and I were trying to understand what all the uproar over "Cuties" is about. We debated watching it or just letting it go. We both decided that it would be impossible to form an objective opinion without first-hand knowledge of the subject; so with considerable trepidation, we took a break from football and hockey and fired up Netflix.
Now having seen it, I feel I can draw a few conclusions: First and foremost, it is is a horrifically terrible film. I mean bad on an Epic Scale. I truly feel like I have lost a part of my life forever. Second and perhaps more socially relevant, neither of us felt the film was in any way pornographic. Disturbing, distasteful, and disappointing but not X-Rated. We found the images of young girls with their butts in the air while mimicking masturbation movements unsettling but not criminal. Of course, you may disagree.
I am not in any way defending the film. As I said earlier, my wife and I both thought it was terrible. It just doesn't (to us at least) deserve the allegation as to being little more than child ponography.

Oh, whew! At least it’s not fodder for the pedo’s then.

Oh, whew! At least it’s not fodder for the pedo’s then.

Ted Cruz disagrees. I'm mostly on his side on this one.

    Particularly as regards this quote:

These scenes in and of themselves are harmful. And it is likely that the filming of this movie created even more explicit and abusive scenes, and that pedophiles across the world in the future will manipulate and imitate this film in abusive ways.

I realize the slippery slope argument is, well, slippery; but I have a pretty firm zero tolerance policy on child exploitation so I'm ok with a slope of 0 on this one. It's entirely possible to make a film about child exploitation without actual child exploitation (no matter the degree), and it seems that with a little bit more wisdom from the director she would have achieved that result.

Just my opinion and all of that. :twocents:
