Wow. That might slow down the resellers, but I'm not sure what WalMart can do if they find their ammo being resold anywhere else. Not like that's against the law.

Well, it is if it wasn't originally SOLD through a WalMart store.

Could be that some of the shortage is cases being "dropped" off the back of the truck.

I understand having some form of label to deter resellers, but what good is the phone number? A simple, "This ammo sold by WalMart" would accomplish the same thing.

I think this is a great idea.... as it should stem the people that are buying the ammo and jacking up the price.

I think this is a great idea, it would stop people from selling that are not licensed to due so (they do have to be licensed right?) without the proper ATF paperwork.

Also I know for a fact that in Indiana it is illegal to buy retail and re-sell it retail on alcoholic products. Anybody know if this pertains to ammo also?

Maybe this way they can track where the ammo is coming from.

But in reality, it's probably just an attempt to create a deterrent.

They should put the stickers INSIDE the boxes.
    Or just have Wal-Mart brand(ed) ammo/boxes.

What do you want to bet that if they did sell Wal-brand ammo that
someone would try to sue if the ammo used in a crime was
traced back to them??? I mean they already try to sue the
gun manufacturers. Put people like jennings/bryco out of
business because they only make "saturday night specials"
Walmart has deep pockets and they get a bad rap anyhow in the media.

You have to have a license to sell alchol. I believe that the average individual does not have to have a license to resell ammo.

Its not just for ammo. On my last trip to Wally world I bought three things that had that sticker. One was a tube of Carmex, the second was a Mr.Coffee coffee maker. and the third was a box of shotgun shells. All I can figure is there doing that to deter people from stealing off the back of the delivery trucks.

Sounds like a great idea to me. I've heard rumors that the local Gander keeps buying out Walmart's ammo and reselling at their usual rediculous prices. This should put an end to that nicely.

Why should walmart give a rats ass if someone is reselling their ammo? They are still selling it at a price they are comfortable with.
