As long as you are honorably discharged, you can go to the VA hospital correct? I assume you have to make an appointment? Also what paperwork is required to be seen? I do have copies of my DD214.
Everything changes when you hit 100%. One of the major things is that you'll get VA dental coverage on top of the huge increase in financial benefits. Don't take no for an answer and you'll get there. As I'm sure you're aware the appeal process can seem like a never ending affair.I am currently at 70% service connected. I have an appeal in process to see if i can get to 100%.
My question is, What benefits would my family be entitled to at that point? I have heard different things from different people.

If you are an OIF or OEF vet your claim will be processed faster
Where did you hear this?
This statement is so not true.. anyone who deals with VA claims waits the same amount of time as any other Veteran.
"...In September 2005, we testified on VA's collaboration with DOD to provide seamless transition of care for servicemembers between DOD and VA health care systems--that is, no interruption of care as the person moves from being a DOD patient to being a VA patient..."
The process for registering for health care benefits has been made easier and faster for OIF/OEF Veterans via the "Seamless Transition" system.... continuation of, and transfer of Veterans' care from military facilities to VA facilities.
U.S. GAO - VA and DOD Health Care: Efforts to Provide Seamless Transition of Care for OEF and OIF Servicemembers and Veterans
As Posted... the process for filing service-connection claims is handled on a first-come, first-served basis, unless extraordinary circumstances arise.
