Even having SRO's is hit and miss, often there may be one that has to split time between schools etc., or in the case of the FL shooting they just hide outside afraid to go in.Do you not have SRO’s not being sarcastic but asking.

Yes, because mankind has such a great track record of moral living it is safe to believe that humans can be moral on their own…That being said, it is one of my peeves when someone infers that without god or religion morals collapse and only through god can they be rebuilt.
One of my peeves is when a atheist lectures me on God.....just sayinI don't care what anyone's religion is as long as they don't try to push it on me. To each his own and it doesn't affect me. That being said, it is one of my peeves when someone infers that without god or religion morals collapse and only through god can they be rebuilt. It's no different than telling everyone you believe that no one can be a moral person without the threat of eternal damnation, which is a bunch of horse ****.
Anyway, I'd like to be done with the religious aspect of this topic which is about some ******* that murdered a bunch of kids for no apparent reason.
She is FAR from alone in this mindset. I've seen trained officers fail to pull the trigger when they should have. I'm sure those in the military who have gone to war can say the same thing about many of their fellow soldiers. Lots of practiced gun owners could NEVER take a life to save theirs or someone they love. People are quite cavalier here about taking a life. Thankfully, having to protect yourself in this manner is infinitesimally rare. I love teachers. My kids had some fantastic ones over the years, truly exceptional. But they would never be able to meet a killer on their terms. It is just how it is.I've had this conversation with my sister who teaches in a high school. She is mortified at the idea of teachers being allowed to carry in school. I asked her why and her rationale was that she didn't think she could ever bring herself to shoot a student. Even when I explained that might mean said student would be free to continue killing other students in the classroom with no resistance. Her answer didn't change.
I asked what she would do if it ever happened. All she could muster was a weak, "I'd call the police."
She essentially said she's willing to watch innocent kids die so she wouldn't have to commit an act of violence to stop it. How do you break through to someone with this mindset?
She knows I carry and train regularly. I asked if she'd be OK with me or someone like me carrying in a school if I were a teacher. She still said, "no. Guns don't belong in school."
No **** Sherlock. So what's the plan to stop someone that brings one in with an intent to kill?
I always have a burr under my blanket.Alright. Which one of you dirty so n so's put the burr under HIS saddle blanket?
They are not mature, not mentally stable, and more likely should be prohibited possessors.
As a parent, I couldn't just walk into my kids school. How the f*** did this a**hat @#%^* just run in and start shooting!!!?Or maybe lock the doors on the school (at least from coming from the outside)...
Haven't read much on this particular one, but sure seems like keeping bad guy out of known gun free zone would keep some of this from happening at least in schools.
Could not have said it better myselfI feel that statement is uncalled for.
You and others may not believe in God or the teachings of Jesus but others do. What does it matter to you if one wished to express their values and impact they believe God has on our lives? What reason would one have to make an insulting statement against those who do believe?
Does it make you feel better?
This is a very sad story about children being killed and people believing, as I do, that there has been a moral downfall since many have taken God out of the equation.
The families of many of those children are, right now, reaching out to, praying to the only hope they feel they have right now. The only peace they may have is from praying to God, and here you are ripping that only hope out of their hearts.
You should be ashamed.
This is live now and hasn't started yet :
Yep. The 2nd Amendment does not give anyone the right to pick up arms and kill innocents. To the contrary it is a right to keep and bear arms to defend oneself and others from those who wish to kill innocents. There are, and always will be, vile creatures walking amongst us. That's exactly why I will never relinquish my right to defend myself.
It has always baffled me how these events become posters and screaming points for the anti-self-defense crowd. Does anyone really believe there is a magic legislation pen that can make the bad people go away? These are exactly the reasons people should take personal responsibility for their safety...not give up the means to do it!!!
Not sure what a "freak" is.Ungodly freaks
After that situation, Florida switched to the school guardian program which seems more successful. Generally retired military or police employed by the schools for the single purpose to secure the buildings and eliminate threats. One assigned to each school with direct supervision. They receive training through the Sheriffs Office but are employed by the school district. I know a few guys that retired to FL to enlist in that program.Even having SRO's is hit and miss, often there may be one that has to split time between schools etc., or in the case of the FL shooting they just hide outside afraid to go in.
I agree. This won't stop until leadership deems it a priority to lock doors and put ARMED officers inside the schools. I don't want to hear any more BS about it would cost too much, that's just putting a price on these children's heads. I've seen several communities implement such measures, so it can be done.
Today, and everyday forward, hold the powers to be, whether a mayor, town council or whatever, directly responsible for providing children's safety in schools.
I'm not blaming those in charge for such a monstrous acts, just pointing out they're lack of doing jack **** sure makes it possible.
Prayers for all.
Correlation does not equal causation. This is a very sad story about children being killed and people believing, as I do, that there has been a moral downfall since many have taken God out of the equation.
It does not necessarily equal causation.Correlation does not equal causation.

Agreed.Well, that was worthless.
