Interest rates are generally better when financing new versus used, so there’s that…
I've been considering a truck for awhile, something along the lines of a colorado/canyon, ranger, or tacoma as having a truck is so convenient. Like guns it's definitely not a buyers market, awhile ago you'd see a ton of tacoma's at decent prices and deals, now the most i've seen at a dealership has been 4 in stock.
It was worse than that. They stole your tax dollars bought 611,114 vehicles and then destroyed them. Why not just pay people to dig holes then pay them again to fill them back in?"Stealing my tax dollars to pay for waste was offensive."
Really good advice here. I waited until the last business day of the year in 2017 to buy my new Ford Escape. I think they were a bit annoyed with me, as I was keeping them from leaving early, but I got an excellent deal. You might be better off with new as opposed to gently used if there's not much of a price difference. Find out if there are any manufacturer rebates that can help lower the price.
With a new vehicle you may be able to get zero or very low interest rate financing.
Getting the full manufacturer's warranty is definitely an added plus as well.
You will typically get the best deals at the end of the month when car lots are trying to meet their sales goals.
When I used to finance cars we would often do deals at the end of the month to hit sales goals that we would not necessarily do earlier in the month. We were not as greedy on deal structure if it meant hitting sales goal.
Well I tried to order a new truck today and GM isn't accepting orders for 2500's, they are only building 1500's. They said I can order a 2022 in May and get it in late June or early July.
On top of that he said there is not even a Red 2500 HD within 300 miles that they can trade for and get me.......although they said something may be in transit to another dealer.

They can most likely locate it nationwide. Ford and Ram could a few years back.
You should be able to build it on GMs website and search in stock / in transit vehicles. Keep moving the zip code around to search a larger area.
Yep, same thing in Dearborn. IIRC, some are changing what's included in option packages so they can get some trucks out.The issue is the supply chain. Trucks are being built but aren't being completed, as they need certain chips, etc. I drove by the Ford truck plant in Louisville a little while back and there's a metric butt ton of trucks parked at the fair grounds and the plant, presumably waiting to be finished. As a result, supply is currently low. It'll break loose again. Personally, if I could wait 18-24 months to purchase, I would. Once stimulus checks are spent and supply chains catch up, prices will drop again.
First new vehicle in my life(36 years old). The nearly 30+ vehicles I have owned combined didn't cost as much as this truck did. Hahahaha.
