You don't think the State Republican party plays any part in who runs for office?

Did some digging, apparently anyone can collect the signatures to run with or without party blessing. (Probably how we get some of the people who tend to butt heads with the party). Where the party can cause you issues is they have the right to challenge signatures…..

Only takes 4500 signatures to make it onto the ballot for senate

Didn’t the republican office close down for weather on the last day the candidates could turn in signatures? Must have been really bad out.
