So did he appear on two murder charges in front of a judge with no Attorney? Or he has as least a public defender in the eve's somewhere?
I just find it shocking that a judge would allow this?
Think he responded to this earlier that with no attorney yet the judge will enter a no guilty for the suspect. Takes awhile to get a attorney sometimes, espically if no one wants it.

If he wasn't white, Ben Crump would have been all over it.

And would've had a few press conferences by now, proclaiming his client's innocence and how his client was a victim of the white supremacist legal system. Or something.

Only people with a lawyer on speed-dial make their initial appearance with an attorney....that's a significant minority defendants. Nothing permanent happens at the initial appearance. Everything that happens can be reconsidered when the defendant has an attorney. When people need a public defender, that's when that process starts. This is a large number of defendants.

Based on the chages, it sounds like the door is open for another party was involved alomg with this suspect.
It does seem like a real possibility. It would be hard to believe his wife didn't recognize him as the Bridge Guy (assuming he is). Thus my totally unsubstantiated dark horse conspiracy theory of her involvement.

Very few would ever think their spouse is a double murderer. I see people that look like others regularly. Then did the wife ever even look at the sketches? I pray for their kids the wife was not involved…

I agree with your first two sentences and your last especially. Not so much your If you've been through that town since it's happened you've seen the sketches. Along with most/all of the towns around it. Hell the bar him and his wife hung out at had it on the wall. But see below.
Surely she asked him, "where is your coat that looks like bridge guy?"
A blue windbreaker type? Those are common. This is not an exaggeration I could have put on pretty much an identical outfit that day and I only live maybe 15 minutes away. Except that I had a very full beard at the time the photos could have been me.
So he has been charged with (35-42-1-1(2)). I see people referring to this as "felony murder". I always thought that term specifically referred to cases where the person didn't directly kill someone. Is that correct? Has Richard Allen been charged with felony murder, or just murder?
Best I can tell is that he's been charged with "felony murder" but in IN that is different than what you are thinking of and what I was as well. Felony murder in IN just means you kill someone while committing a list of felonies, it doesn't have to be intentional. Roofie a girl to rape her and she OD's, felony murder not reckless homicide or whatever. It carries the same 45-life and possible death sentence as regular murder. ETA it seems it can be both.

Completely unfounded conspiracy theory here based on the handling of this case so far.... his wife is involved somehow!
Mine early on was whoever did it was in witness protection, and his handlers knew about his predilections. FBI on scene to "assist" before the girls were found, the local SAIC giving daily updates to the state SAIC who was giving weekly updates to the Deputy Director in D.C.? Billboards in what 45 states? Yes I know this is a horrendous and very rare type of murder, but...

5 charges against KK dropped, several more to be downgraded according to fox59:

MIAMI COUNTY, Ind. — Prosecutors in the upcoming trial for Kegan Kline are asking a judge to drop five out of the 30 child porn-related charges against him.

Court documents filed Wednesday show Chief Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Peter Diedrichs asked the court to dismiss five counts of possession of child pornography due to insufficient evidence to “prove said counts beyond a reasonable doubt at trial.”

The 28-year-old Kline has become synonymous with the Delphi murder investigation after it surfaced that he reportedly used a fake profile to communicate with at least 15 underage girls, including Delphi victim Libby German.

Case goes ahead against man linked to Delphi murders investigation
Kline is accused of posing as the “anthony_shots” persona to solicit pictures from minors.

He has never been charged or named a suspect in the murders of Libby German and her best friend Abby Williams.

Prosecutors are also asking a judge to amend more than a dozen charges against Kline. The request includes downgrading several counts from a level 4 to a level 5 felony or level 5 to level 6.

Can a deal happen this way though? Where they drop some charges but he pleads not guilty to the others and goes to trial? Or would a deal always involve a guilty plea?
