I will never "roll over" for a man who is a 2-time existential threat to a Republican majority in the US Senate. Also, I find zealots who are so enamored of their guy that they are unwilling to consider anything even approaching negative about him a bit off-putting.When I see this argument, I am mystified by the people who think Trump supporters should be the ones to roll over for what those people believe to be the greater good but who never even think that maybe THEY should be the ones to roll over to ward off what they believe is an such an existential threat. It makes me think they are unserious and raising the issue is just a stratagem, else they would acknowledge there is more than one solution to that problem
And if/when Trump doesn't get the Republican nomination for the presidency, I think that his ego will demand that he run as a 3rd party candidate, with his acolytes gleefully supporting him in his quest for his 3rd existential threat; any hope of a non-Democrat in the White House in 2024.
