I read on INGO that it's just as good to watch it on TV.Plus I have driven much longer for three minutes of pleasure.
I've got several welding hoods, I'm ready...

So, does anyone know for sure if auto darkening helmets are safe?I need to check my batteries. Lol
I was playing with mine yesterday it is auto darken and my cheap LEDs in garage wouldn't turn it but as soon as i looked toward sun it worked. Mine hood goes to shade 13 and they say you need 14 and I am a little concerned about when it gets to 90-95 is it going to stay dark? Anybody with experience have input? So, does anyone know for sure if auto darkening helmets are safe?
If there’s no spark bright enough to darken it I think it could be big trouble.
I have a few helmets with sensitivity adjustment and regular sunlight *might* trigger them on high.
If you can lock it on dark that might work but that’s not how mine work…
Turn the sensitivity up I’ve got mine set to 11 …ok, it’s like 8..So, does anyone know for sure if auto darkening helmets are safe?

No. Decided to make Kebabs and needed the veggies. So I stopped on my way home from redoing Mom's bathroom. So were you at Meijer trying to stock up for this? (I did fill up my gas tank today)
how much do you value your eyes? More than 2-3 bucks?I was playing with mine yesterday it is auto darken and my cheap LEDs in garage wouldn't turn it but as soon as i looked toward sun it worked. The only thing worse than a deaf sound man would be a blind welder.how much do you value your eyes? More than 2-3 bucks?
Just buy the damn glasses. its not like they are expensive.
Need it set to 14 minimum. I'll leave my helmets in the garage and shed. I will stick with certified sun lenses. I've been a sound man and a welder. I'm protecting my senses.Turn the sensitivity up I’ve got mine set to 11 …ok, it’s like 8..
The glasses I’ve seen are definitely darker than a number 12 lens welding helmets I have. Not sure I can make them go to 14 and stay there. I’m not taking a chance.Need it set to 14 minimum. If I choose to, I can see it from my yard too.Lucky for me I can just stay home and watch it from my own yard.
I stacked an extra 9 shade on the 10 shade I already have in my welding mask, as I'd rather use protection I know what it is, rather than trust the low cost sunglasses that may or may not meet spec.
Everything I find says to use at least a 14 shade if using a welding mask.
I still turn down the radio while driving when I am looking for a street or house. The only thing worse than a deaf sound man would be a blind welder.
