A politician who screwed the pooch with his response to covid but continues to double down on how "perfect" it was. Where have I heard that before?
In some of the op-eds you dig up in your relentless search for an excuse not to vote for Trump at all?

    Mission Accomplished!

I'm no expert but I thought that was pretty small.
Regardless, masks won't prevent covid unless they are fitted correctly

The things that masks do work for, only work if the masks are fitted correctly and the mask itself is only used once, or very few times. That was one of the giveaways that they were full of :poop: is that you could use a mask indefinitely and not have to fit it correctly and it somehow magically worked. Even setting aside it didn't stop COVID in any capacity anyway.

Yeah the right mask for the task, worn the right way, at the appropriate times, by the appropriately trained people work for certain things. Telling every Joe that a piece of tshirt and then a medical mask would stop them from transmitting and catch an air borne virus was a lie. The PPE manufacturers even said they wouldn’t work.

At one point there were gobs of Martha Stewart wannabees making YouTube videos of how to turn old clothing into stylish masks.

One thing that's helpful to know, in order to really understand how government works, is the fact that the actual effectiveness of masks in preventing spread of COVID is only part of the criteria that government would consider as part of their COVID response.

I would say that wearing a mask is at least as effective in preventing COVID as Nancy Reagan's "Just Say No" buttons were at preventing drug use. But I sure wouldn't discount the power of the symbolism of either one.

I knew we were screwed when, early on in this thing, decent, "conservative"-type people were volunteering to make homemade masks for (among other things) doctor's offices. When I saw those posts, I feared we were diving head-long, like a bunch of lemmings, into covid madness. I remember some of the early covid posts right here on this site.

There were even studies early on that masking outdoors or in large, well ventilated areas was unnecessary. And then we got one of the best impromptu studies possible about outdoor masking.

During the summer of love, when conservatives mocked the unmasked protests as superspreader events, the left responded with studies showing that cities with massive shoulder to shoulder protests did not spread covid at any higher rate than cities that didn't have mass protests. So it appears they can be honest when there's a bigger point for them to make. The covid gods apparently spared the unmasked protestors because their intentions were pure.

Wearing them correctly means nothing if the government allows them to be disposed of like cigarette butts.

What does that have to do with wearing them correctly? yeah, it sucks that mask Nazis discarded masks, that were ineffective no matter how worn, like cigarette butts.
