Yeah I try to make them neat. I can so it not uniform too. Some people want them beat like that and not all over the place or scrunched together.

i think I'm gonna do my shield like this too.

I bought a rubberized Talon Grip for my shield. I thought about stippling the grip, but they're not interchangeable like on a full size. That's why i went with the Talon Grip. Though i would be interested in getting the 8rd mag pinky extensions stippled...
