We have used some decking wood 1x6 or whatever it is. Doesnt matter if there are a few small gaps. Once you camo with local stuff it will stay dry in there.
It's been a while since I've been on INGO and a while since I've been to the blind. I got out for a few hours yesterday morning and got some more work done. I can see the finish line. The pallet idea didn't work. *note to self pallets are a PITA to break apart nicely* I was cleaning our barn out and found a bunch of 2X4s so I cut those in half and offset them. I also found old rabbit and chicken fencing. I am stapling that to the outside and I am going to weave in grass and brush. I'm not sure what I am going to do about the back yet because I only want to make 1 more trip back to work on it and don't want to buy more wood. I might have to bite the bullet and buy some plywood.
We built large floating blinds up on Saginaw Bay when I lived in MI. We built a deck on top of 55 gal drums and then put up corner supports. For the sides and top we used wooden lattice. Spray painted it with multiple colors and then wove in natural marsh grass and some sticks from the area. Cheap and easy to do.
This is so close to being done. We ran out of rattle can black and tan that we need to finis up the roof with and add some camo netting/burlap and brush in a little more. But, this is gonna be one sweet blind.
